Erling Haaland has claimed that senior executives at Borussia Dortmund are pressuring him into deciding his future. Haaland has been linked with moves to Europe’s top sides and is expected to leave the club in the future.

Borussia Dortmund star, and one of football’s most in-demand players, Erling Haaland, has claimed that the club is pressuring him into deciding his future. The 21-year-old continues to be linked with some of the top European clubs. Reports throughout this period have maintained that he will leave Dortmund in summer 2022 when his release clause becomes eligible.

Nevertheless, the Norwegian claimed in a recent interview that there is pressure on him from the club to decide his immediate future. In the midst of this, he claims, his objective remains to concentrate on playing football – and help his side challenge champions Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.

“The last six months, I have chosen not to say anything out of respect for Dortmund.

“But now the club has started to pressure me into making a decision, but all I want to do is to play football.

“I have said from the beginning that I want to focus on football because that is when I am at my best, not when other things come into my mind. Now they have put pressure for a while. So it is time to get things started. All I want to do is to play football, but I can’t do that now.”

    the striker told Viaplay.

Haaland scored twice in Dortmund’s 5-1 win against Freiburg on Friday night, bringing his goal tally for the club to 78 in 77 appearances.

The forward has maintained his remarkable numbers throughout his two years at the club; he finished with 41 goals in 41 games in his first full season at the club and is on track to better that tally this time around.

The Norwegian’s sensational form at the club level has invited interest from some of Europe’s top clubs. Real Madrid have been linked with him in the past, as have the English trio of Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United.
