Goals went in aplenty on Saturday in the Bundesliga, with Hertha Berlin and Borussia Monchengladbach’s match being the only game that involved just one goal. Bayern Munich chipped in with a 4-0 victory over Hoffenhem, whilst Marco Reus’ Dortmund kept pressure on them with a 3-1 win in Bielefeld.

FSV Mainz had a goal-fiesta against Augsburg with Jonathan Burkardt starring for the carnival club. Karim Onisiwo opened the scoring for the hosts before Burkardt assisted Stefan Bell and scored himself before the 30-minute mark. Andi Zeqiri pulled one back in the second half for Augsburg, but Burkardt scored again to give Mainz a 4-1 win.

Bayern Munich just cannot stop scoring goals, and they smashed four past Hoffenheim. Serge Gnabry was denied a goal in the 8th minute by VAR, but he got back immediately with a clinical finish from an acute angle. Robert Lewandowski joined the party with a thundering shot from outside the box to make it 2-0.

Eric Choupa-Moting scored his third goal of the season to make it 3-0 in the second half, and a clinical win was rounded off by Kingsley Coman’s late goal. Bayern’s 4-0 victory made it 22 points in nine games for the side, and earned them their seventh win of the campaign.

Another side who earned their seventh victory of the campaign was Borussia Dortmund, who travelled to Arminia Bielefeld and registering a 3-1 win. Emre Can’s penalty and a brilliant right-footed driller from Mats Hummels just before the end of the first half kept BVB two to the good.

Jude Bellingham scored arguably the goal of the season until now, towering his way past a bunch of defenders before finishing off a magnificent goal. A late penalty for the hosts denied Gregor Kobel a clean sheet, but three much-needed points were added to their kitty once again.

A stellar second-half comeback from RB Leipzig earned them a 4-1 win against Spielvereinigung Greuther Furth. Branimir Hrgota converted a late first-half penalty for the visiting side, before goals from Yussuf Poulsen, Emil Forsberg, Dominik Szoboszlai and Hugo Novoa knocked Furth off the perch.

Freiburg’s visit to Wolsfburg was surprisingly fruitful, with the visiting team winning the game via a clinical defensive display. Goals came from Philipp Lienhart and Lucas Holder for Freiburg, as Mark van Bommel’s unit denied themselves a chance of entering the European slots on the table. Marco Richter’s goal was the decider in Hertha’s clash against Monchengladbach.
